7) CHEP 2009 (Prague)
第17回目となるCHEP 2009 (17th International Conference on Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics)は、2009年3月21日～27日、チェコのPrague Congress Centre (PCC)で開催された。3月25日午後はToursに充てられた。会議録はJournal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS)として出版された。
8) CGO-2009 (Seattle)
CGO-2009 (Symposium on Code Generation and Optimization)は2009年3月22日～25日にSeattleのSeattle Waterfront Marriottで開催された。主催はIEEE/CS TC-uARCHとACM SIGMICROとACM SIGPLANである。初日には4件のworkshopと1件のtutorialが開催された。2件の基調講演が行われた。

10) Computing Frontiers 2009 (Ischia)
第6回目となるACM International Conference on Computing Frontiers 2009は2009年5月18日～20日に例年通りイタリアのIschia島で開催された。下の写真は島の東端のAragonese Castleであるが、会議が実際この城で行われたかは不明。以下のworkshopsが併設された。

11) CCGrid 2009（上海）
第9回目となるCCGrid 2009 (9th IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Cluster Computing and the Grid)は、2009年5月18日～21日に中国の上海で開催された。組織委員長は、Ming Li and Hai Jin、プログラム委員長はFranck Cappello and Cho-Li Wangであった。参加者は170人で、前回の260人、前々回331人より少なく、新型インフルエンザの影響と思われる。日本からも多くの出席予定者が欠席を余儀なくされた。会議録はIEEE Xploreから発行されている。2004年以来ACMは共催していなかったが、今回からは主催者に復帰している。

IWOMP 2009 (5th International Workshop on OpenMP)“Evolving OpenMP in an Age of Extreme Parallelism”は、2009年6月3日～5日にドイツのDresdenのTechnical University Dresden Computer Science Departmentで開催された。主催は、the Center for Information Services & High Performance Computing (ZIH), a central scientific institution at the Dresden University of Technologyである。2件の基調講演が行われた。

20) Lattice 2009（北京）
第27回のInternational Symposium on Lattice Field Theory（通称Lattice 2009）は、2009年7月26日～31日に中国の北京大学で開催された。会議録はオンラインでPoS上に公開されている。
21) Hot-Chips 2009（Palo Alto）
第21回となるHot Chips: A Symposium on High Performance Chipsは2009年8月23日～25日にカリフォルニア州Palo Altoで開催された。主催はIEEE Technical Committee on Microprocessors and Microcomputersである。ACM SIGARCHが共催。Intel社、IBM社、Sun Microsystems社、AMD社などのプロセッサメーカは今後投入予定のプロセッサを披露した。(ITmedia 2009/8/27)
IBM社はBlue Watersで使う予定のPOWER7を示した。45 nmテクノロジで4, 6, 8コア、コア当たり4スレッド。メモリはdual channel DDR3で100 GB/s、L3はオンチップのembedded DRAM (eDRAM)で32 MBもある。
Intel社は新プロセッサNehalem EXを披露した。詳細はIntel社の項で説明する。Tukwilaのコード名の新Itaniumの登場が遅れている。当初2007年の予定だったが、2010年まで遅れている。
AMD社は12 coreのMagny-Coursを2010t年第1四半期に出すと述べた。これは2個のチップを1つのパッケージにしたものである。4本のHyperTransportリンク、quad channel DDR3を持つ。
Sun Microsystems社はNiagraの後継である16 coreのRainbow Fallsプロセッサを出した。最大128スレッドが走る。L3キャッシュはない。Webサービスなどに使われる。科学技術計算用のRockは富士通に任せたのか？
富士通は、次世代スーパーコンピュータ用のSparc64 VIIIfx（コード名Venus）を出したはずだが、大きな話題にはならなかったようだ。
NVIDIAのCEOは、6年後CPUの性能は6倍だが、GPUは570倍になると豪語した。

次回は、ドイツのHamburgで開催されたISC2009と、Portlandで開催されたSC09について述べる。三浦謙一氏がSeymour Cray賞を受賞した。
