35回記念のICPPがColumbusで開催され、「今後35年の並列処理」という記念パネル討論会が行われた。第4回となるGlobus World 2006は、GGF18およびGridWorldと合同で、Washington DCで開催された。今年はGlobusの10周年。 |

CCGrid06 (6th IEEE International Symposium on Cluster Computing and the Grid)は、GridAsia2006やThe 6th International Workshop on GLOBAL AND PEER-TO-PEER Computing Singaporeに並行して、2006年5月16日～19日にシンガポールのSingapore Management Universityで開催された。組織委員長はStephen Turner and Satoshi Matsuoka 、プログラム委員長はFrancis Lee Bu Sung であった。参加者は189人。Globus Middlewareのチュートリアルや以下の基調講演があった。

第6回目となるThe International Conference on Computational Science 2006 (ICCS 2006)は、”Advancing Science through Computation”のテーマで、5月28日～31日に英国Reading（レディング）にあるUniversity of Readingで開催された。6件の基調講演が行われた。会議録はSpringerからLNCS 3991～3994として出版されている。

COMPUTEX 2006は、2006年6月6日～10日に台北市信義路にあるthe Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Exhibition Hallを中心に開催された。
17) VECPAR 2006（Rio de Janeiro）
第7回目となるVECPAR 2006 (International Conference on High Performance Computing for Computational Science)は、初めてPortoを離れ、2006年6月10日～13日にブラジルのRio de JaneiroのIMPA（純粋応用数学研究所）で開催された。発表のうち56件がSpringerのLNCS, volume 4395として出版されている（写真）。
18) IWOMP 2006（Reims）
IWOMP 2006 (SECOND INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP on OpenMP)は、2006年6月12日～15日にフランスのReimsで開催された。IWOMP 2005と合わせて会議録がLecture Notes in Computer Science, 4315 として、Springerから出版されている。
19) ISCA 2006（Boston）
第33回目となるISCA 2006 (33rd Annual International Symposium on Computer Architecture)は、2006年6月17日～21日にマサチューセッツ州BostonのPark Plaza Hotel で開催された。主催はACM SIGARCHとIEEE/CS TCCAである。委員長はDavid Kaeli。電子版会議録はACM、IEEE、IEEE/CSに置かれている。二三年前から会議名にAnnualが着いている。
20) HPDC-15（Paris）
第15回目となるHPDC-15 (The 15th IEEE International Symposium on High Performance Distributed Computing)は、2006年6月19日～23日にパリで開催された。会議のWebはほとんど残っていないが、3件の基調講演が行われたようである。

24) Lattice 2006（Tucson）
第24回目のInternational Symposium on Lattice Field Theory（通称Lattice 2006）は、2006年7月23日～28日、米国アリゾナ州Tucson（トゥーソン）で開催された。会議録はオンラインでPoS上に公開されている。
25) ICPP 2006（Columbus）
ICPP 2006 (International Conference on Parallel Processing 2006)は、2006年8月14日～18日にオハイオ州Columbusで開催された。2回目の4年周期の4年目である。1998年のMinneapolisでの開催以来、久しぶりのアメリカ国内の開催となった。記念すべき第35回ということで特別のパネル討論が行われた。基調講演・パネルは以下の通り。

29) Euro-Par 2006（Dresden）
第12回目となるEuro-Par 2006, Parallel Processing, 12th International Euro-Par Conferenceは、8月29日～9月1日にDresden工科大学で開催された。会議録はSpringer社からLNCS 4128およびLNCS 4375として出版された。
30) CCGSC 2006 (Flat Rock, North Carolina)
CCGSC (Clusters and Computational Grid for Scientific Computing)は、1992年から隔年で、アメリカまたはフランスで開催されている。アメリカ側の主宰者はJack Dongarra (U. Tennessee Knoxville)である。参加は招待者のみ。今年は、2006年9月10日～13日に、ノースカロライナ州Flat RockのHighland Lake Inn & Resortで開催された。松岡聡が“The Hatching of TSUBAME and Its Siblings － One Possible Future Scenario for the Japanese Petascale Grid in the 2010s －”という発表を行った。プログラム、アブストラクト、参加者紹介などをまとめた資料がwebに残っている。
31) Globus World 2006（Washington DC）
標準化のところで述べたように、第4回となるGlobus World 2006は、GGF18およびGridWorldと合同で、2006年9月11日～14日にWashington DC Convention Centerで開催された。グリッド協議会が2006年11月2日に開催した第1回Grid HotlineでオーバービューとGGF18報告集が出されている。今年はGlobus projectが1996年に始まってから10周年で、11日の晩には記念イベントが行われた。

First International Workshop on Automatic Performance Tuning (iWAPT2006)は2006年9月12日、東大本郷の小柴ホールで開催された。片桐孝洋（電通大）と須田礼仁（東大）が共同議長である。
33) EuroPVM-MPI（Bonn）
13回目となるEuroPVM-MPI 2006（13th European PVM/MPI User’s Group Meeting）は、2006年9月17日～20日にドイツのBonnで開催された。Proceedingsは‟Recent advances in parallel virtual machine and message passing interface”のタイトルで、Springer社からLNCS 4192として出版されている。
34) Cluster 2006（Barcelona）
第8回目にあたるCluster 2006 (2006 IEEE International Conference on Cluster Computing)は、2006年9月25日～28日にスペインのBarcelonaのHotel Barcelo Santsで開催された。会議録はIEEEから出版されている。引き続き9月28日～30日は同所でGrid 2006が開催された。
35) HPC Europe Workshop (Oxford)
イギリスの防衛組織AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment)は、2006年9月25日～26日に、OxfordのSt. Catherine collegeにおいてHPC Europe Workshopを開催した。ヨーロッパ各国からトップクラスの論客が各10名以下ずつ、合計80名が集まり、ヨーロッパのHPCの将来について議論した。1日目は17人が登壇してHPCの現状について発表し、2日目は12名のベンダ代表が発表した。ヨーロッパのHPC産業は再活性化が必要だとの意見が共有された。HPCwireに詳しい報告がある。(HPCwire 2006/9/29)
