HPC Asia 2007はソウルのロッテホテルで開催された。情報処理学会のHPC研究会はこの国際会議を協賛するとともに、同会場でHPC研究会を開催した。4年に1度開催されるICIAM 2007がチューリッヒで開催された。36回目のICPP 2007は中国の西安で開催された。 |

第2回となるHiPEAC 2007（High Performance Embedded Architectures and Compilers）は、2005年11月に続き、2007年1月28日～30日にベルギーのGhent（ヘント）で開催された。基調講演は下記の通り。

第54回目となるISSCC 2007 (2007 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference)は、2007年2月11日～15日にSan Francisco Marriot Hotelにおいて、“The 4 Dimensions of IC Innovation”のテーマで開催された。主催者は、IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society, IEEE San Francisco Section, Bary Area CouncilおよびPennsylvania大学である。3件の全体講演があった。

4) 次世代気候モデル開発 (Hawaii)
RIST（高度情報科学技術研究機構）の主催による最先端並列計算機における次世代気候モデル開発に関わる国際ワークショップは、1999年のハワイ会議から（2012年まで）日米欧を会場に毎年開かれている。昨年はAlbuquerqeであったが、2007年はハワイに戻り、第4回共生ワークショップとの併催で3月1日～3日に第9回ハワイ会議”The 9th International Workshop on Next Generation Climate Models for Advanced High Performance Computing Facilities”としてSheraton Princess Kaiulaniホテル（写真はWikipediaから）開催された。Sustainabilityがテーマということで、筆者は”Sustainable Society and Information Technology”という講演を行った。
5) CGO-2007 (San Jose)
第5回目となるCGO-2007 (2007 International Symposium on Code Generation and Optimization)は2007年3月11日～14日にカリフォルニア州San JoseのHotel Valencia Santana Rowで開催された。主催はIEEE/CS TC-uARCHとACM SIGMICROとACM SIGPLANである。昨年と同様にPPoPP’07 (Principles and Practice of Parallel Programming)との同時開催である。2件の基調講演と1件のパネルが行われた。

第16回目となるCHEP 2007 (International Conference on Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics 2007)は、2007年9月2日～7日にカナダのBritish Columbia州のVictoriaで開催された。会議録は、Journal of Physics: Conference Series CHEP 07 Proceedings(Volume 119)として出版されている。写真はProceedingsの表紙である。
25) ParCo 2007 (Jülich/Aachen)
1983年からほぼ2年ごとにヨーロッパで開催されている（1987年は開催せず）が、ParCo2007 (PARALLEL COMPUTING 2007)は、2007年9月4日～7日にドイツのJülichの研究センター(FZJ)とAachen大学のRWTHを会場に開催された。6日以外はFZJが会場で、Aachenから朝晩のバスで連絡した。FZJはかなりの田舎にある。前日の9月3日にはAdvanced OpenMP and MPI Tutorialsが開催された。招待講演は以下の通り。

HPC Asia 2007 (The 9th International Conference on High Performance Computing, Grid and e-Science in Asia Pacific Region)は、KISTIの主催で、2007年9月9日～13日にソウルのロッテホテルで開催された。情報処理学会のHPC研究会はこの国際会議を協賛するとともに、9月9日に同会場で第112回HPC研究会を開催した。HPC研究会登録会員は参加費が$100割引された。筆者はこれまでのHPC Asiaは皆出席であったが、今回は所用で欠席した。

第3回目となるFrontiers of Extreme Computing 2007/Zettaflops workshopは、2007年10月21日～25日にカリフォルニア州Santa Cruzで開催された。サマリーによると、議論された主要な問題は

b）増大する並列性
c) メモリと記憶装置
d) 相互接続
e) 信頼性
f) プログラミングモデル
g) 消費電力
h) ヘテロなアーキテクチャと演算加速装置

などであった。2008年からは、Zettaflopsより宇宙空間で故障しないコンピュータ技術の方に関心が移っている。

HiPC 2007 (14th IEEE International Conference on High Performance Computing)は2007年12月18日～21日にインドのGoaのthe Cidade de Goaで開催された。アメリカなどに多くいるインド出身のコンピュータ研究者がクリスマス休暇に帰省するチャンスを狙っているとのことである。基調講演5件が行われた。会議録はSpringerから出版されている。
