HPCの歩み50年（第140回）－2007年(f)－

HPC Asia 2007はソウルのロッテホテルで開催された。情報処理学会のHPC研究会はこの国際会議を協賛するとともに、同会場でHPC研究会を開催した。4年に1度開催されるICIAM 2007がチューリッヒで開催された。

国際会議

1) 次世代気候モデル開発
RIST（高度情報科学技術振興機構）の主催による最先端並列計算機における次世代気候モデル開発に関わる国際ワークショップは、1999年のハワイ会議から（2012年まで）日米欧を会場に毎年開かれている。昨年はAlbuquerqeであったが、2007年はハワイに戻り、第4回共生ワークショップとの併催で3月1日～3日に第9回ハワイ会議”The 9th International Workshop on Next Generation Climate Models for Advanced High Performance Computing Facilities” Sheraton Princess Kaiulaniとして開催された。Sustainablilityがテーマということで、筆者は”Sustainable Society and Information Technology”という講演を行った。

2) IPDPS 2007
IPDPS 2007 (21st IEEE International Parallel & Distributed Processing Symposium)は、2007年3月26日～30日にカリフォルニアのRenaissance Long Beach Hotel, Long Beachで開催された。主催はIEEE/CS TCPP (Technical Committee on Parallel Processing)、共催はACM SIGARCH、IEEE/CS TCCA、IEEE/CS CDPであった。PCGrid 2007 (Workshop on Large-Scale, Volatile Desktop Grids)が併設された。招待講演は下記の通り。

3) ICCM2007
ICCM2007 (International Conference on Computational Methods)は、2007年4月4日～6日、平和記念公園内の広島国際会議場で開催された。この会議は2004年にProf. G.R. Liuによって始められ、2回目である。その後は二三年間隔で開催されている。

4) COOL Chips 2007
10回目にあたるCOOL Chips X (IEEE Symposium on Low-Power and High-Speed Chips)は、2007年4月18日～20日、横浜情報文化センターで開催された。主要ブログラムは以下の通り。

5) CCGrid07
CCGrid07 (7th IEEE International Symposium on Cluster Computing and the Grid)は、2007年5月14日～17日にブラジルのRio de Janeiroで開催された。IEEE/ACMが主催した。発表の一部はWiley発行のConcurrency and Computation: Practice and Experienceの特別号として発表された。ワークショップGP2PC’07 (The 7th International Workshop on GLOBAL AND PEER-TO-PEER COMPUTING”Observation, Experience and Application”が併設された。

6) ICCS 2007
ICCS 2007 (International Conference on Computational Science 2007)は2007年5月27日～30日に中国の北京にある中国科学院大学（Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences）で開催された。ICCSは2001年San Franciscoに第1回が開催され、これは7回目である。基調講演は以下の通り。

7) IWOMP 2007
IWOMP 2007 (International Workshop on OpenMP (2007))” A Practical Programming Model for the Multi-Core Era”は2007年6月3日～7日に北京の清華大学で開催された。

8) ISCA 2007
ISCA 2007 (The 34th International Symposium on Computer Architecture)は、2007年6月9日～13日、San Diegoにおいて2007 Federated Computing Research Conferenceの一部として開催された。

9) ICS 2007
ICS 2007 (21st International Conference on Supercomputing)は2007年6月16日～20日にSeattleのCrowne PlazaホテルでACM/SIGARCHの主催により開催された。この会議は1987年から開催されている。基調講演は以下の通り。

10) ISC2007
2007年6月25日(月)～7月1日(日)にDresdenで開催された ISC2007 については別項で述べる。

11) ICIAM 2007
応用数理学会連合が4年に1度開催するICIAM 2007 (The International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics)は2007年7,月16日～20日にスイスのZurichで、Zurich ETHとZurich大学を会場に開催された。

12) HOT CHIPS 19 (2007)
1989年から始まり、Stanford大学またはその周辺で開催されて来た高性能半導体の国際会議HOT CHIPSは、19回目のHOT CHIPS 19 (2007)をStanford大学のMemorial Auditoriumにおいて、2007年8月19日～21日に開催した。基調講演2件とパネル討論は以下の通り。

13) Euro-Par 2007
Euro-Par 2007 (The 13th International Euro-Par Conference, European Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing)は、2007年8月28日～31日にフランスRennesのIRISAで開催された。The First CoreGRID European Network of Excellence Symposiumとの合同開催である。展示会も併設された。基調講演は以下の通り。

14) ParCo 2007
1983年からほぼ2年ごとにヨーロッパで開催されている（1987年は開催せず）が、ParCo2007 (PARALLEL COMPUTING 2007)は、2007年9月4日～7日にドイツのJülichの研究センター(FZJ)とAachen大学のRWTHを会場に開催された。6日以外はFZJが会場で、Aachenから朝晩のバスで連絡した。FZJはかなりのど田舎にある。前日の9月3日にはAdvanced OpenMP and MPI Tutorialsが開催された。招待講演は以下の通り。

15) HPC Asia 2007
HPC Asia 2007 (The 9th International Conference on High Performance Computing, Grid and e-Science in Asia Pacific Region)は、KISTIの主催で、2007年9月9日～13日にソウルのロッテホテルで開催された。情報処理学会のHPC研究会はこの国際会議を協賛するとともに、9月9日に同会場で第112回HPC研究会を開催した。HPC研究会登録会員は参加費が$100割引された。筆者はこれまでのHPC Asiaは皆出席であったが、今回は所用で欠席した。

16) ICPP 2007
36回目のICPP 2007 (2007 International Conference on Parallel Processing)は2007年9月10日～14日に中国の西安 (Xi‘ An)の西安電子科技大学(Xidian University)で開催された。会議録はIEEEから出版されている。IEEE主催の会議としては1993年からなので、36回目はIEEE主催以前から数えているのか。基調講演は以下の通り。

17) iWAPT2007
iWAPT2007 (The Second international Workshop on Automatic Performance Tuning)は2007年9月20日～21日に東大の小柴ホールで開催された。プログラム委員長は片桐孝洋（東大）、副委員長は直野健（日立）である。招待講演は以下の通り。

18) I-SPAN 2007
9回目のI-SPAN 2007 (The International Symposium on Parallel Architectures, Algorithms, and Networks) は2007年10月11日～13日にオーストラリアのSydneyで開催された。IEEEのリストではこの回は無視されているようである。1回目は1994年12月14日～16日に金沢で開催された。

19) SC07
11月12日(月)～１8日(日)SC07(Reno, Nevada)については別記する。

20) ICPADS 2007
ICPADS 2007 (2007 International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems)は2007年12月5日～7日に台湾の新竹(Hsinchu)で開催された。会議録はIEEEから発行されている。

21) HiPC 2007
HiPC 2007 (14th IEEE International Conference on High Performance Computing)は2007年12月18日～21日にインドのGoaのthe Cidade de Goaで開催された。アメリカなどに多くいるインド出身のコンピュータ研究者がクリスマス休暇に帰省するチャンスを狙っているとのことである。基調講演5件が行われた。会議録はSpringerから出版されている。
